Q4: Good progress on development projects
Wednesday, 16 February 2011 00:00
Det norske oljeselskap ASA is working actively on three potential development projects. In the fourth
quarter, Det norske recorded high operating revenues.
In 2010, Det norske oljeselskap ASA confirmed its position as one of the most active exploration companies on the Norwegian continental shelf and the company will continue its extensive exploration activity in 2011.
Development projects
In the first quarter 2011, the company will decide on the optimum development solution for the Draupne discovery. Draupne stands out as a very good project. Estimated volumes have been lifted from between 110 million to 150 million boe, to between 112 to 192 million boe, with a most likely volume of 140 million boe.

Det norske studied alternative development options for Draupne (PL 001B). Both a stand alone development of Draupne and a coordinated development with the Luno discovery (PL 338) are being considered. The company aims to present its recommended development solution to the licence partners by the end of first quarter of 2011.....

In the second quarter, Det norske operated three rigs simultaneously without experiencing any serious incidents or injuries.

Both the Draupne and Storklakken discoveries were appraised with positive results, and the apparisal drilling in Grevling proved potentially commercial resources.           Exploration well 16/1-11 A discovered more oil in Draupne in PL 001B. The resource potential of a development is estimated to lie between 110 and 150 million barrels of oil equivalents.

Det norske discovered oil in apparaisal well 25/1-11A in Storklakken in PL 460. The resource potential is estimated to lie between 7 and 12 million barrels of oil equivalents.

Three of the exploration wells that Det norske participated in during the second quarter were dry: well 15/12-22 Storkollen in PL 337, well 15/9-24 Storkinn in PL 408 and well 2/2-6 Optimus in PL 332.
